MESA FRESCA COVID-19 SAFETY PLAN
Here at Mesa Fresca, we are 100% committed to ensuring that all of our customers and staff stay safe during our current situation, and at all times, as we battle through Covid-19 and it's impact on our business.
There are numerous rules and guidelines that we must adhere to during these times in order to maintain a safe dining experience for all.
Please keep the following policies and guidelines in mind as you dine with us over the next few weeks and months.
We thank you ahead of time and for your continued support of our restaurant and our staff.
FACE COVERINGS ARE MANDATORY
We ask that you have your face covering with you at all times. You will be required to wear your face covering upon entering our restaurant, or to use our facilities, and when leaving. It is strongly recommended to have your mask on at all times when your server is present and when not in the act of eating or drinking.
Persons are exempt for the following reasons:
a. The Person is a child under the age of two years; or a child under the age of 5 years either chronologically or developmentally and he or she refuses to wear a face covering and cannot be persuaded to do so by their caregiver;
b. Wearing a Face Covering would inhibit the Person’s ability to breathe in any way;
c. For any other medical reason, the Person cannot safely wear a Face Covering such as, but not limited to, respiratory disease, cognitive difficulties or difficulties in hearing or processing information.
d. The Person is unable to apply or remove a Face Covering without assistance, including those who are accommodated under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) or who have protections under the Ontario Human Rights Code, R.S.O. 1990, c.H.19, as amended.
EMPLOYEE SCREENING
All Mesa Fresca Employees are subject to the following screening prior to entering the building
1. All employees, including Owners and Managers have their temperature taken before their scheduled shift, and is recorded on our daily timesheet
2. All employees are subject to COVID-19 testing once weekly
3. All employees are screened through the Government of Ontario screening questionnaire.
4. If any employee exhibits any signs of COVID-19, feels unwell, has a high temperature or fails to answer screening questions properly, she/he will be sent home immediately and the KFLA Health Unit will be notified right away. These duties are the responsibilities of the Owners or Manager on Duty.
CUSTOMER SCREENING
All Mesa Fresca customers will be asked to perform a pre-screening questionnaire upon entering our building prior to dining with us as mandated by the Government of Ontario, and KFLA Public Health guidelines.
EMPLOYEE PROTOCOLS
1. All employees are required to wear a triple filter mask at all times.
2. All front of house employees are required to wear protective eye coverings.
3. Increased personal sanitization is required, including increased hand sanitization at all times.
Reservations Are Highly Recommended
We have very limited seating, and although we always welcome walk-in customers, please do not be disappointed if we do not have a table available without a reservation. Please keep in mind that during these times, we do not have a waiting area for guests, and if we are at capacity, as outlined by KFLAPH and the Government of Ontario, we may ask you to wait outside, or come back when there is a table available.
We Are Safely, Socially Distanced
We have carefully laid out our restaurant in accordance with the current regulations. As a result, we ask that you do not move tables or chairs to any other area at any times. There are no exceptions to this rule.
Maximum Seatings
10 Guests Indoor Dining
Tables and chairs can not be moved to accommodate larger groups. Please do not ask to bring in groups of 8 or more to sit at separate tables at this time as this may promote the temptation to move from one table to another. We are committed to keeping our environment safe for everyone.
All Customers Must Remain Seated At All Times
There are no exceptions to this rule. The only times customers are allowed to move about the restaurant is to enter, leave or use the facilities.
All Seatings Are For a Maximum of 1.5 Hours
No exceptions. Reservations may be shorter and will be indicated at the time of booking. Walk-in customers may be given a time to be out by to accommodate the next seating.
Reservations May Not Increase Last Minute
If you show up with more guests than was originally booked, those extra guests may be asked to leave. We need to be extremely diligent with the amount of customers in our establishment at all times. We will not move tables and chairs around during service to accommodate last minute additions.
Hand Sanitizer
Hand sanitizer stations are located at the following areas: front entrance, hostess stand, patio entrance, Women's Restroom, Men's Restroom, Accessible Restroom. Please ensure you use hand sanitizer before entering our establishment.
Restrooms
We please ask that only one customer use our Women's and Men's restrooms at a time.
Our Accessible restroom can be used by patron and caregiver at any time.
Patios
Our patios will remain open until otherwise mandated by the City of Kingston, or other regulatory agencies. We will not serve on our patios during inclement weather. Reservations are highly recommended for patio seating Please also be advised that if you choose to sit on the patio during peak times, you may not have the ability to move into the restaurant in the event we are full, or have reservations at tables inside.
